Atlantic's Finest Sardines

This piece transforms a sardine tin into a colorful, functional chair. Measuring 36 inches wide, 55.5 inches tall, and 15.75 inches deep, it’s made from wood, painted with bright, harmonious colors, and includes a removable cushion that I upholstered. On the back, I created a collage using items from the process—like a broken paintbrush, my woodcut list, and the color palette—adding a personal touch and highlighting the effort behind the work, behind the chair.
The chair is designed for lounging, but its compact space creates a playful dynamic when shared. It’s a nod to the idea of being “packed like sardines” in a fun, comfortable way.
This project combines practicality and creativity, focusing on bold colors, storytelling, and a bit of humor.
