Gaze Within

“Gaze Within” is an 8x12 graphite self-portrait on drawing paper that delves into the contrast, as well as the light and shadow of the human form. The detailed rendering of my face, especially my eyes and my hair, set against a backdrop of negative space, captures a moment of introspection. By pulling my eyelids down, I aim to highlight the complexities of self-exploration and personal growth. This piece invites viewers to contemplate the balance between internal and external perceptions.
